London, the home of the first Rubbish Café
You may have seen the buzz around this campaign flooding your social feeds this week, and if not - We did and we think it is ACE!
Environmentally friendly cleaning brand Ecover opened a pop-up shop in London's Covent Garden this week, being named the first Rubbish Café in London! At the venue, consumers can literally only pay for their food using plastic rubbish, and they are able to gain insight from the brand into ways they can reduce, reuse and recycle more effectively.
Consumers were asked to bring at least one piece of recyclable plastic, and in return they would be presented with a full meal and drink! This concept was created by eco-chef Tom Hunt, who wanted to create a vegan and vegetarian menu designed to inspire consumers to becoming more environmentally friendly in their day to day life. Ecover have used the shop to promote their new washing-up liquid range, which has completely recyclable packaging, and they are giving out free re-fills to visitors!
The pop-up shop managed to invite a few celebrity faces to help boost their social media presence, which worked a treat for them and their very appealing Instagram feed:
The pop-up concept is only open 3rd-4th May 2018, but further advertising campaigns have been announced for the next few weeks - watch this space! For more information see their site here.
